An easy way to incorporate more greens into your day

green smoothie with mint garnish
For years, one of my favorite smoothies from Trader Joe's has been their Green Protein. It is bright green, contains an amazing amount of vitamins and tastes like strawberries. When other people see me drink it, their reaction isn't always so enthusiastic. They comment that they can't imagine drinking something green, and ask if it tastes like grass. I've won over a few converts to the green smoothie side, but my victories are often few and far between.

I am always happy when I see someone else taking up the green smoothie battle and this week Alanna at A Veggie Venture evangelized mightily for our side. She has posted four recipes for green smoothies as well as a list of tips for incorporating greens into the smoothies you are already making. Her recipes make me sort of sad I cooked up all the chard I had around with garlic and onions earlier tonight. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some more so I can test out a few of these techniques.

I have some great and easy Raw Whole Food recipes on my blog if you'd like. More great ways to get fresh fruits and veggies into your diet.

I tire easily of the overly sweetened varieties and prefer Unjury (unjury.com) for it's smooth flavor, zero carbs and fat, and high protein. However, even that brand can get boring now and again, and I've yet to try a green variety that I liked.

I'll swing by TJ's and try this one on your rec. I'm always willing to follow someone's recommendation and see how it turns out.

I suppose I should try the blog link as well, but for now, I'm just enthused for a TJ's recommendations. I can be lazy. And I have *tons* of chard right now.

However my husband and I have found an easy and tasteful way to get our daily fruit requirement,,we drink Monavie. Monavie is a juice made up of 19 fruits including the ACAI berry. The ACAI berry has been named the #1 superfood in the world by Dr. Perricone. My husband and I drink 2oz in the morning and 2oz at night and have never felt better. Our energy level has soared, we have lost over 30 pounds combined, our aches and pains have vanished and my cholesterol and high blood pressure has finally registered normal levels!!
