They say that breakfast is most important meal of the day (and you can ask Bob about that), but often times, we skip, or at the very least skimp, on it because we run out of time. However, time isn't always the only excuse for skipping breakfast. Sometimes, we just don't eat breakfast because there's nothing new, exciting, or good for breakfast. I mean really, how many bowls of Grape Nuts can you eat before you'll be happy if you never see another nut of a grape again? What about yogurt? Yogurt is a very common breakfast food, but let me tell you, it sounds awfully healthy. Frozen yogurt, does not, because frozen yogurt is dessert! What is stopping you from churning up a simple batch of (low-sugar) frozen yogurt?
Nothing.
So go ahead and make yourself and your kids some breakfast sundaes of a scoop of frozen yogurt topped with fresh fruit, some chopped almonds and a drizzle of honey! You know that's a healthier breakfast than, oh, I don't know, chocolate pancakes with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge.

I don't know about frozen yogurt in general, but I used to get Blue Bunny fat free frozen yogurt and it's 100 calories and no fat for 1/2 cup. (Full nutritional info here: http://www.bluebunny.com/ProductDetail.aspx?currentcategoryid=22&productId=388 )
My concerns would be:
1. Messiness. Kids eating ice cream (or frozen yogurt) tend to get messy. Cleaning them up adds prep time in the morning.
2. Time to eat. My 4 year old eats ice cream super slow. He would probably take 45 minutes to finish it all and I just don't have the time in the morning.
3. Bad Appearance. Since it looks similar to ice cream, it would be easy for your kid to mistake this for ice cream for breakfast. Of course, this is easily remedied by some education as to what they're eating. In addition, it's much better than grabbing a donut as they walk out the door. My 4 year old is likely to tell his teacher that he ate ice cream for breakfast though. That'd be fun to explain. ;-)

Too complicated. I buy whatever yoghurt is on sale that week in the 8 oz cups, sugar and fat free, of course=90 calories, throw em in the freezer, and slurp em up all hot summer long. If I have four a day--and I often do, that's only 360 calories. And really, no need for any churning--that's WAY too complicated.
Breakfast? C'mon, you have to go with something substantial. I usually go with a burrito, beef stew, or last night's pizza. I understand some people like eggs and bacon, or such. 90 calories of sugar free skim milk yogurt won't give you enough energy to pillage Rome and get back to Pannonia for lunch.

I think this is a brilliant idea. Particularly in the summertime. Thanks!
