60th Annual Maine Lobster Festival - Part Two

Well I'm back again at the 60th Annual Maine Lobster Festival. I'm going to let the photos do the talking here. So...

There's more than food at any festival, and rides are part of the fun.

Hot dogs the Maine way. Griddled crispy in oil and sauteed onions and served in a New England style top sliced bun. Mmmm.

Locally made root beer that's darn tasty.

Enjoying some fried dough.

Cooking up some sausage and peppers.

Here's what the back of the worlds largest lobster cooker looks like. Hey, they're cooking with Bio Heat.

Besides the rides, you have the games. Anyone want to Whack a Mole?

You want How Many T-Shirts?

Father and daughters are all enjoying their fried dough.

Here's the festival from a nearby park in the harbor. You can see the steam rising from the lobster cooker. I've left the festival and I'm setting up to watch the fireworks show. I know fireworks aren't about food but they're pretty cool. I love how the crowd always say the same thing no matter where in the country you are. Ooooh and Aaaah...

The deepest red moon I have ever seen is rising into the pitch black night sky. I've seen some darn great red moon rises all over the world, but this one tops them all. I wish my camera gave it justice! The harbor looks well lit, but in fact it is so dark you can barely make out the boats. I left the lens open for five seconds so it could pick up enough light from passing cars headlights to light up the boats.

A gorgeous end to a long day.
