Better put that zucchini in a car seat

seatbelted zucchini
I really have no words to go along with this photo because honestly, this picture by itself is worth a thousand words, and there is no way I could do it justice. What your eyes have fallen upon is a gigantic zucchini from the garden of the uncle of food blogger Iron Stef. This lovely creature, and I do believe that "creature" is absolutely thr right term here, weighs in at ...actually, I don't even know, but I am guessing at least 10 pounds, or big enough that it just passes the weight requirement to put this baby in a carseat! This picture is quite funny, but the real amazement comes from a photo of this zucchini next to a "regular" sized zucchini.

I wonder how many loaves of zucchini bread Stef is going to have to give away!

The record zucchini/courgette/marrow is over 100lbs, there are some big ones here:

Well we traveled with it in the back car window from there to DC and back home again a week later. I cooked several meals from it and it wasnt bitter or anything. When you have a garden small or large and dont stay on top of it everyday, you get some big surprises! Happy gardening~
