I have this interest in celebrity recipes that I can't explain. Maybe I just like to picture TV and movie stars with an apron on in their kitchen, making salads and homemade ice cream and basting turkey, happily serving their guests. I did a big post a while back about Frank DeCaro's site, which has a bunch of recipes from various personalities, from Burt Reynolds to Vanna White.
After the jump is a recipe from Golden Girl Bea Arthur. Maybe it's something you'll try this morning.
Bea Arthur's Good Morning Mushroom-Tomato Toast
4 slices bread, toasted
1 Tbsp. margarine
2 medium tomatoes, sliced
¾ cup chopped fresh mushrooms
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tsp. nutritional yeast (optional)
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Melt the margarine in a small pan over medium heat, add the tomatoes and mushrooms, and sauté over high heat until soft, about 4 minutes. Add the salt and pepper. Put some tomato-mushroom mixture on each piece of toast and, if desired, sprinkle some nutritional yeast on top. Heat in the oven for 2 minutes, and then serve immediately.

Now that's an idea!cheese on top!
