Not wanting to be outdone by their competitors, Wendy's has announced that they will be improving the flavor and quality of their coffee in the near future. The fast-food chain plans to launch the new product, to be marketed as Wendy's Custom Bean, along with their new breakfast menu in select markets later this year. Apparently the chief exec and president of Wendy's, Kerri Anderson, wants to make Wendy's "a destination for coffee". I do have to wonder - is yet another place to go drink coffee what we, as consumers, really need or want?
I suggest improving the fries, instead.

Hey, it's a good thing when coffee gets an upgrade, no matter where it is. I personally enjoy the coffee at the golden arches since they went with the Fair Trade/Newman's blend. You better lookout Maxwell House!

Improving the fries?!?!?!?!11? Ridiculous! Anyone with a functioning taste bud knows that among fast food establishments, Wendy's fries are far and away the best things EVER, IF they are made properly. I will admit that an oversalted and old Wendy's fry is bad, but no worse than an old McDonald's fry.
The Fry scale looks as follows:
1) Wendy's
2) McDonald's (a distant second)
3) Arby's (curly fries are nothing more than a marketing gimmick, poorly executed and usually overcooked)
4) Burger King (which seem to be rolled in corn meal prior to cooking, hardly an improvement)

Seems like a no-brainer to me, since they own Tim Hortons, and ought to have easy access to good coffee through them.
And I agree that Wendys makes the best fast-food fries, when they're properly cooked, at least. Quality control is lacking and I've gotten undercooked, cold fries on a number of occasions. What they need to do is improve the buns on their single-triple burgers. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to use the bun from their chicken sandwiches.

DITTO. Wendy's fries actually taste and feel like potato unlike McDonald's grease-stick abominations.
