We continue our week of spotlighting bartenders from The Improper Bostonian's "Beloved Bartender" issue.
It isn't every day that you get a cocktail with the word "sock" in it, so this drink caught my eye. It's the signature drink of Ari Barbanell. She's a bartender at Chez Henri in Boston. Well, Cambridge, to be precise.
The Pink Sock
1 oz. Plymouth Gin
1/2 oz. Cointreau
juice of half a pink grapefruit (or Ruby Red)
Shake over ice, strain into a cocktail glass with a sugared rim and float a layer of sparkling cava on top. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
Other drinks from Boston Bartender Week:
The Mind Eraser
Geisha Girl
The Lemon-Thyme Gimlet

Maybe you should google what "pink sock" means.
A prolapsed anus. Real classy.

Either that or it's named after Mooch's favorite pink sock, in the Mutt's cartoon.
Yer gonna have to ask Ari!
Inquiring minds, and all.

I agree with the first comment, real classy. What's next a donkey punch cocktail? Yikes!

I bartend in Scottsdale, AZ and we created a Dirty Pirate cocktail... It's not a whole lot of fun to do, but it's fun to watch!
