Today we have a little drink that sounds like it was created for a movie, but it's real: The Mind Eraser. It's the signature drink of Phil Richardson, who tends bar at The Palm in Boston. Richardson says it's a drink that he's been trying to wean himself off of for 30 years.
Warning: this drink involves a straw.
The Mind Eraser
Equal parts vodka, Kahlua, and soda water. Served on the rocks and sipped through a straw.
I've seen another version of this drink, which uses Sprite instead of soda water.

to be honest I don't see how this warrants a post...it's kind of like claiming that someone makes amazing screwdrivers, or cape cods, etc. that said, it should be noted that a mind eraser is a layered drink, with the kahlua on the bottom, followed by vodka, then soda. drink thru the straw from the bottom up (as one is apt to do) all at once. this is a party drink, not something to be ordered if you're trying to impress a first date. on the other hand, if you do order this on a first date, you're probably awesome, so it cancels out.

Actually, who needs the soda water. Actually, who needs the kahlua? Of course, truly evolved children of the '60's don't really need the vodka, either.

yeah this drink is rather common place. If this is the signature drink of a bartender, I don't think he is a very good one.

I've done this with a white russian as well and it is very tasty. It breaks it from being such a heavy drink.

Should this be poured in layers - any particular order - or c i just pour all 3 randomly on the rocks? Sounds like a very easy drink - can this be made using Bailey's instead of Kahlua?
