I've met a lot of people who love bananas but hate banana bread. I guess I can understand that. I love peas but hate pea soup, and I hate anchovies but I like Caesar Salad. Different forms, different flavors.
So I doubt that banana bread haters would want to try this recipe. It's for the A-Number-1 Banana Cake, and you can check it out over at the new and improved AOL Food. Recipe after the jump.
A-Number-1 Banana Cake

1 tbsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
4 ripe bananas, mashed
2/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 2 eight inch round pans. In a small bowl whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda.
In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix in bananas. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to the mixture. Stir in walnuts and then pour mixture in pans.
