Diet 7-Up Taste Challenge

Fancy yourself a soda connoisseur, or just love free things? Diet 7UP is so sure that you will love their revamped product that they will send out a Taste Challenge Kit right to your door so you can try and compare in the comfort of your own kitchen. Each kit contains the new Diet 7UP as well as two other competing diet lemon/lime soft drinks.

According to the company, Diet 7UP apparently now has more lemon lime flavor and less of the diet-drink aftertaste. I'll let you know if I agree when my kit arrives. This offer appears to be good in both the US and Canada.

I wrote the company and complained, and I was told that this is what the public wanted (I informed them that I went through 24-30 cans a *week*, but this new formula was nearly unpalatable for me.).

Apparently, the public DIDN'T like it, and they changed the formula into its current iteration.

It is more palatable than before, but I still pine for the original recipe which not only was 'crisp and clean' refreshing but useful to help my children with stomach problems.

We now only purchase when on sale, I've tried the other 'clear' drinks--and a couple of them taste closer to the original 7-up. Those are what I purchase predominantly now...

On another note, I wonder if anyone in the Los Angeles area knows a reseller of Canada Dry or Shweppes DIET Ginger Ale. I have only seen in on the East Coast. It's my favorite, but I guess LA isn't a big ginger ale crowd. Too bad...the Diet Cranberry Ginger Ale is to die for.

ZephyrQ, just to let you in on a little secret apartame causes cancer and has a ton of other side effects. the ones i suffer from are headaches and shortness of breath. just go to google and search for it and you can find very long lists of the side effects of a chemical that never should have been approved by the fda. and the story of the way it became approved that is definetly a fairytale straight out of d.c.

I drink a lot of diet 7UP, and I didn't even notice that they switched back to aspartame - it tasted the same to me -until I read the label recently. I will not be buying it any more. I'll probably switch to DietRite products, as they use Splenda.

This sticky, nasty new taste 7up has pushed upon us is disgusting. I bought up CASES (about 80) of the old diet 7up. I'm waiting for them to realize their goof - just like Coke did.

It alwasys amazes me how companies that finally get something right, have to go and screw it up. This seems to be the American way.
