The 2007 Food Network Awards were held in February during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, but the results were just broadcast a few nights ago during a 90-minute TV special. I missed the actual show, but have a full listing of the winners which you can find after the jump.
The categories this year were strange to say the least - you won't find anything relating to any of the actual shows or people of the Food Network, however, the network personalities were out in full force. Giada De Laurentiis, Bobby and Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, and Bobby Flay (among others) presented alongside a rather odd choice of celebrities (really, this is food - not the oscars!) including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart. Though it may seem odd, I'm sure it was highly entertaining.
If you want to catch the entire awards show, the Food Network will apparently be running an encore tonight.

I have to admit I set the DVR for this one and watched it later, so I fast forwarded thru some of the dragging on parts....but I thought the segments on technology and the scholarship award were okay, and did not find it as unbearable as Anthony did. I have to admit I always enjoy Alton Brown, so that made it okay for me. Wasn't the greatest, was overly commercial-ized, but I think worth an overhaul and trying again. Kind of fun to see the network stars interacting with each other and doing something besides their usual "schtick."

Both Zeta-Jones and Eckhart are starring in No Reservations (7/27/07).

Apparently, the FN thinks their shows (that only consist of five people now - Rachel, Emeril, Bobby, Gadia, & Paula - really pathetic and boring IMO....) are for idiots (that's US, people!!!) and need to discuss such boorities as best "comfort food" and "best appliance".... OH PLEASE!! I guess the FN really thinks that their population is really stupid! I've just given up on anything new and fresh coming from them. I think FN needs to impeach it's President and staff and start all over again to widen it's viewer base and get EXCITING shows on there!!
Of course, that's only one lowly person's $0.02..... ;)

and the others should have remained at home. Maybe Catherine Zeta Jones needed the publicity Could be she was getting recipes for the geriatic crowd, Kirk sure needs something to keep him going. RR should have stayed home.
