Cassanova may beg to differ, but according to the research of Dr. David Lewis of Mind Lab, chocolate causes a more intense buzz than kissing, "A buzz that, in many cases, lasted four times as long as the most passionate kiss."
The study was done on couples in their 20s who wore scalp electrodes and heart monitors.
It is already known that chocolate has an effect on the brain, but the key to getting that long-lasting buzz is letting it melt slowly on the tongue.

The best, of course, is to combine kisses with chocolates. Now you've got something...

I love your site and I love reading anything about food. But shouldn't you guys, who blog almost hourly, have made even the tiniest comment about the carnage at Virginia Tech yesterday? The food world isn't completely immune to the outside world, but maybe you think you are.....

With the vast coverage of the shootings everywhere else on the web, I think it is great to find a place away from it. While I am sure everyone has an opinion on what happened, not every blog is a place to express it. Were you bothered when there was no comment on the most recent bombings in Iraq, stocks plummeting, gas prices, etc.? This is a food blog, and I applaud them for remaining as such.

ASusan, this is a food blog. While we are all upset about what happened at VTech yesterday, I don't think anyone wants to know what was being served in the school's cafeterias that day. If you want to read the news, go to npr.org.

Personally, I gotta say that if chocolate is doing more for you than kissing, you're not kissing right.

"Cassanova"? Does anyone edit this site? I like a lot of the content here but this is just sloppy and it's in the lead sentence. Oh, yeah, and Casanova died in 1798 so I doubt he's going to be disagreeing with much of anything.

Ian- I certainly second that!
And Heidi..while I do agree that editing is important, why so snipey/serious? Ok, Casanova died in 1798...it was a joke, ha ha?

Adriane, that lead sentence came off to me as careless and bad--not up to this site's usual quality. There's no current LIVING lover she could have referenced with their name spelled correctly? I'm a fan of this site and I just hate seeing the writing slide downhill like this.

Yes, I want to see more news coverage on a food blog. Somehow correlate chocolate to kids getting their heads blown off in Iraq or something.

I don't think kissing in a lab while wearing electrodes could possibly be compared to kissing under normal circumstances.

Oh come on Fizzy, random wires and a scientist audience doesn't put you in the mood? Not even the florescent "mood" lighting? haha..

chocolate luvr.. i understand ur concern for the people in the VT shooting, but there is nothing we can do about some of those issues... like yes pray and pray.. and wish their families the best is all.. but we cant spend the rest of our days mourning over the issue, nuthing would get done or be solved if we did.

ummm....wow
i mean i've never read this thing before, but why would you bring up VTech? i mean if it really if a food blog, that has nothing to do with this. nobody is being insensitive they are simply doing what they are suposed to, writing articles about food and i personally think this article is funny.
i agree with the fact that being in a lab may not put you in the best mood, but hey a kiss is a kiss and chocolate is chocolate. you cant mess with science

You guys, this is a food chain. Not a U.S. news chain....
Come on... you shouldn't be here if you want to be reading about Virginia Tech. Besides, it's on the news like 24/7.
