Rachael Ray: Great magazine, lame TV show

Rachael RayHow can someone who puts out such a fun food mag put on such an unbearable TV show?

I want to like Rachael Ray, the TV show. I really, really do. Honest. But it's just an annoying hour to me. Maybe it's because I'm a guy. One minute Rachael will be teaching us how to make some cool quick meal with pasta and vegetables, and then five minutes later she'll be talking about women in abusive relationships or how someone can organize the shoes in their closets. It just doesn't work for me. (And there's also the whole thing with her voice and bubbly personality, which I can take on 30 Minute Meals but when it's an hour every day...). But it's really popular, so maybe I'm not the right audience.

But Every Day With Rachael Ray? That's a great little magazine. It has a bunch of recipes that you feel you can actually cook (unlike some mags), quick guides to eating in various cities, tips on shopping, tips on buying wine, interviews. It's well-done. If there's one quibble I have is the whole "celebrity fridge" feature in the back of every issue. It's kinda funny to see what celebs have in there, but do we have to have some quiz about what they have? On the same page where we can see the answers?!? It seems to be a quiz made for people who find the TV Guide crossword difficult.

Miss Martha can get a little mouthy too, but hers is egostical, Rachel's got a motor on her! She's great with kids and a creative cook and I'm sure the mag will do well. I'll read her mag while I watch Martha.

She's one of the reasons that the Food Network sucks. Or maybe she just generally represent lowered expectations. I'm not sure.

Oh, and seeing her lick chocolate off a spoon makes me want to vomit.

I really like her magazine and I liked the old Rachael - back when the Food Network only had her doing one show, maybe two :) But then she got loud, nasal, obnoxious and over-exposed overnight. The new show is dreadful and was quickly banished from our Recordings list.

Look at the food: as photographed, it is DIZ-gusting. Someone needs to explain to her: This Isn't 1952. Ingredients: she should be removed --for making GARBAGE. Somebody should eat/cook --PORK garbage
--cheap beef, piled on beef on cheap CHEESE crap --beacause her booker got some B-List Name to show up?
Pa-leeese. She doesn't KNOW a Thing abut nutrient value of food, giving the body what it needs, clean/
non-toxic/non-processed alternatives or quality. So it's fast: ya, so? = FAST crap. WHY does she YELL??? Fake enthusiasm?

Utterly stupid, inappropriate, DUMB JUNK. Bras relate to food...HOW??? Glad you posted. --I can't stomach more than 2 -4 minutes of it, so I don't. WAY wouldn't read her rag if it was FREE.

And I don't make anything using beef or Ritz crackers, etc. I'd rather watch Food Network's "Manic Organic" . He's soooo down to earth! Read about it at http://www.organic-nature-news.com/organics-in-the-media.html.
