Friday Happy Hour: St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur Cocktails

I just reviewed St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur and thought you might like some cocktail recipes using this fabulous new liqueur. Simon Difford of Diffords Guides and UK brand manager for St. Germain sent me the following 14 recipes.

The St. Germain Cocktail (Signature cocktail)
Glass: Collins (12oz)
Garnish: Half orange slice
Method: POUR wine and then St. Germain into ice-filled glass. TOP with soda (or champagne), lightly stir and serve with straws.
2 shot(s) Sauvignon Blanc wine
2 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
Top up with Soda water (or champagne)

Glass: Flute
Garnish: Lemon zest twist
Method: POUR first two ingredients into chilled glass. TOP with champagne.
1 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
¼ shot(s) Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Top up with Champagne


Left Bank (Dry)
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Lime zest twist
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
2 shot(s) Plymouth gin
1 shot(s) Sauvignon Blanc wine
1 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur

Right Bank (Medium Dry)
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Lemon zest twist
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.

Parisian Martini
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Lime zest twist
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
2 shot(s) Ketel One vodka (or Plymouth gin)
1 shot(s) St. Germain
¼ shot(s) Dry vermouth

The Stig
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Float wafer thin apple slice
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
1 shot(s) Boulard Grand Solage calvados
1 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
1 shot(s) Sauvignon Blanc wine

St. Germain & Champagne
Glass: Flute or champagne saucer
Garnish: Strawberry on rim
Method: Pour ingredients into chilled glass.
1½ shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
Top up with Brut champagne

Saint Germain Sidecar
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Lemon zest twist
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
1½ shot(s) Rémy Martin cognac
1½ shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
1 shot(s) Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Origin: Created in 2006 by yours truly.

In-Seine
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Lemon zest twist
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
2 shot(s) Rémy Martin cognac
1½ shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
1/8 shot(s) La Fée Parisian (68%) absinthe

Daisy Cutter Martini
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Float mint leaf
Method: Lightly MUDDLE mint in base of shaker (just to bruise). Add other ingredients, SHAKE with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
3 Mint leaves
1½ shot(s) Ketel One vodka
1 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
1 shot(s) Dry vermouth
¼ shot(s) Green Chartreuse
Origin: Created in 2006 by yours truly and named after the cricket term for a ball ineptly bowled close to the ground.

Rose-hip Martini
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Orange zest twist
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
2 shot(s) Ketel One vodka
1 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
½ shot(s) Dry vermouth
1/8 shot(s) Rosewater

Saúco Margarita
Glass: Coupette
Garnish: Lime wedge & optional salt rim
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
1½ shot(s) Partida tequila
1½ shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
¾ shot(s) Freshly squeezed lime juice

Elder Sour
Glass: Old-fashioned
Garnish: Lemon slice & cherry
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and strain into ice-filled glass.
2 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
1 shot(s) Freshly squeezed lime juice
½ fresh Egg white

Elderflower Manhattan
Glass: Martini
Garnish: Maraschino cherry in drink
Method: SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
2 shot(s) Bourbon whiskey
1 shot(s) St. Germain liqueur
½ shot(s) Dry vermouth
2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters

3-20-2007 @7:59PM ea said... Where IS St. Germain? I was in France last week and couldn't find the stuff anywhere...and now can't seem to find it in the states...if a great liquor falls in a glass and no one is around to drink it - will it ever dissapear?
