Bacon, eggs, cereal, pancakes, muffins, fruit and coffee are just a few of the foods that are widely accepted as normal breakfast fare. They'll be on the menu of just about any breakfast-serving restaurant you might wander into, after all. This isn't to say that these are your only breakfast options, but you aren't likely to get strange looks from people when you tell them what you ate that morning, either. And rest assured that there are some people who will have strong reactions to what they feel is inappropriate breakfast food.
As an example, Jen, from Life begins at 30 told a little story about being kept in from recess when she was in the second grade (about 7 years old) by a teacher who felt unusually strongly about what appropriate breakfast foods were. She strongly disapproved of little Jen's choice of leftover spaghetti before school and it wasn't until Jen's mother talked her down that she backed off.
You won't be kept in from recess anymore, regardless of whether you prefer waffles, ham sandwiches, cold pizza or leftover apple pie for breakfast. So you can tell us: what's your favorite untraditional breakfast food?

And I think soup for breakfast is excellent, I eat that a lot too. Especially miso soup, I think it's a very wise tradition to start the day with something that's easy to assimilate and inoculates your gut with good bacteria for the day.

My favorites though, are leftover lo-mein, and leftover pizza. I once had a leftover McDonalds cheeseburger. That was pretty yummy too! When I need energy for work, I have a big turkey sandwich on a poppy seed roll with lettuce, tomato, and lots of mayo.

UJABO
(Uncle Jeffrey’s Ass Bustin’ Oatmeal)
Ingredients per Portion
1 Cup Chicken Broth (preferably home made)
2 Gloves of Garlic (sliced thin)
½ Cup Quaker Old Fashioned Oatmeal (d) NOT the Quick Oats
½ Tsp Hot Curry Powder (d)
4 Shakes of Cumin (d)
Dash of Cayenne Pepper (d)
2 Pinches of Salt (d)
2 oz Pre-cooked Boneless Chicken Thigh (Sliced Thin)
3 Tbs of Chick Peas
2 Full Handfuls of Fresh Baby Spinach
Preparation
1.Combine dry (d) ingredients in serving bowl.
2.Add Garlic and Chick Pea’s to Broth in a pot
3.Add Dry Ingredients. Mix and cover pot. Turn on stove to high. When mixture comes to a boil set timer to 5 minutes. Start timer.
Careful not to let it boil over!
4.Stir. Reduce heat to Medium/ Medium Low.
5.At 4 minutes add spinach. Stir and blend until spinach is wilted and well mixed with the oatmeal.
6.At 2 ½ minutes add the Sliced Chicken. Mix well. If mixture is too stiff add a little chicken broth for desired consistency. Continue to stir not letting the oatmeal stick to the bottom of the pot, until timer rings.
7.Sit down for the best breakfast you ever did have. This goes really well with Aztec Cocoa. Now go out and melt some snow.

I love breakfasty soups too! I make a crockpot of soup with a chicken broth, some flaked fish, diced scallion, seaweed, and diced chilis of some sort or a dallop of rooster sauce and it goes a looong way.
That or I eat some kimchi or pan-fried squid with pepper and a spicy sauce.
Since I moved into a neighborhood with a lot of Korean shops and markets I've started saving on money and have dropped 5lbs. Hooray! There's just something about spicy food and seafoods that jumpstart the metabolism. A perfect extra kick for the most important meal of the day. If I ever have eggs in the morning, they're soft boiled with hot sauce, pepper, and maybe a bit of onion (green, white, red, whatever). Yum. :9
