Next Thursday, Starbucks is giving away free 12-ounce cups of coffee for a few hours in the morning. If you can wait a couple more days for your free drink, Dunkin' Donuts can do one better.
On March 21st, the first day of spring, Dunkin' will "put winter on ice" with their first ever Free Iced Coffee Day. All day long, Dunkin' Donuts locations all over the US will be giving away free 16-ounce iced coffees. Their iced coffees are "double brewed" for smoothness and come in nine different flavors, in addition to regular coffee.
The company reports that iced coffees are their second most popular menu item after hot coffees and that they sold over 150 million cups last year alone!

(it's a math geek joke, sure but some of us are foodies too)

And won't these lovely giveaways within two days fuel the Starbucks vs. DD debate? Excellent.

(I'm in Boston, land of DD dominance. Gotta stick up for my coffee)

The magical land with no DD's is called "the West Coast."

I live in West Haven (across the river fom New Haven with the goat herders, for you Connecticut deprived people out there), and at least some of the McDucks in the area are giving away free coffee everyday. The catch is, only between 6 and 8 a.m. It doesn't say you have to buy something to get it, either; although they have been and still are giving away a freebie with any breakfast sandwich.
And we have four DD's in this town, too. I wonder if its a conspiracy.

Your insult to Asians (50 wives, 1 milliion children, and a need to learn how to speak English) is rather amusing because your post is horribly misspelled and grammatically disastrous. Perhaps, before insulting an entire culture, you should learn how to speak and write English as well. It's ironic and you've only insulted yourself through your display of ignorance.
To the rest:
I really enjoy DD iced coffee--I get mine straight, no cream or sugar. Even long after the ice has melted, it isn't watered down, which allows me to sip it throughout the day. And while today's coffee is free, it's still cheap enough to buy daily!!!

3-21-2007 @4:40PM Lauren said... A friend and I stopped by one of the many local DD's for the free coffee today. I've probably tried one of their iced coffees in the past and I don't remember having any unpleasant memories of it, but the coffee today was really awful. I got it with a little cream and caramel flavor, but mostly it tasted just like watered-down milk (not even coffee) with a strange artificial aftertaste. My friend's hazelnut one wasn't much better, except that the hazelnut flavor was stronger and covered up more of the watered-down taste.
I felt guilty for throwing it away...but at least it was free, because had I paid for it, I would have asked for a redo or refund. I think I'll stick with Starbucks.
