A new energy drink called Liquid Experience, inspired by Jimi Hendrix, is being released this spring by Beverage Concepts. The drink, which is named after Hendrix's breakthrough album, "Are You Experienced?" is nonalcoholic and uses the guitarist's image as part of its promotional materials. While the Jimi Hendrix vodka didn't seem to excite much controversy, the energy drink is not going over too well with fans, who feel that "his image and the beautiful feelings it has created during my lifetime cheapened by base advertising." Hopefully, those somewhat disgruntled fans can take comfort in the fact that Beverage Concepts Chief Executive Josh Glass has promised to donated a portion of the royalties from the sale of the drink will go to educational causes, as many other products that have use Hendrix's image in the past have done. According to Glass, the company will probably choose a music education foundation.Jimi Hendrix energy drink angers fans

The guy has a questionable past

Everyone has an opinion...we all now that they say about that. Hard to believe in this day and age someone would actually think this is bad idea. Everything created in this world is exploited in one way or another. For financial gain or not. If you dont like the idea, don't buy it. That is the American way. You have a vote with your money. I have never tried the stuff but I will. Probably as good as anything else out. Not like Red Bull tastes so great. As far hanging this guy out to dry for fraud. It's bullcrap. I actually am very familiar with the legal case and know for a fact Josh Glass had no hand whatsoever in any fraud scam. The fraud was not due to anything other than his now deceased father not registering the business as a franchise. Josh was merely the guy in charge of setting up distribution. Because he had the same last name, the AG went after everyone assuming everyone was on board with some big scam. Not true. Yes, laws were broken but not by Josh or his brother. The father was the "point man" but unknowlying so. Too bad the law doesn't allow you to say " I didn't know". Josh basically paid a settlement in order to stop the proceedings. He has gone on to other ventures with great success never once inccuring any issue or problem. There are always 2 side to a story. I hate to see a basically good human being who is forging forward as an entreprenuer get labeled as a crook. Check your facts before you crucify someone...next time it could be you being hung
Ii don't think if you asked the guy who gave Josh Glass his life savings whether he got off on a technicality will agree with you- and i suppose that Josh, who owned 50% of the company, didn't know that he was selling stale and oily potato chips and water with fake lapels or that the 12 warehouses the people were told were there really weren't- but i guess mr. glass will continue to go around with purple tinted glasses oh and btw- what was josh glass ever successful in other than takiing other people's money
Dude Hendrix never told people to do the drugs or things he did. His music came straight from hsi heart and mind. Hendrix was the total opposite of making money and becoming famous. He made his music for the love, passion, and feelings he had for the guitar and sounds he made. He lived in a 2 bedroom apartment his whole 4 years of his music career. I think it's a bunch of bullshit that people want to make money over the beautiful music and influences he's had on a lot of musicians. Instead of bettering the community and world like Hendrix wanted to, selfish bastards like this wanna make money off of a genuis.
