Jay-Z helps relaunch Cherry Coke

Cherry Coke is
getting a new look, thanks to rap star and business entrepreneur Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter. He was involved with not only the design of the new can, but also the television commercials and marketing campaigns for the brand. The soda was relaunched last week at New York's Fashion Week, alongside the latest addition to the Coca-Cola family, Cherry Coke Zero.
The advertising campaigns for both products went public on Valentine's Day, with outdoor, radio and point of sale ads, as well as a 30-second commercial (featuring a Jay-Z soundtrack) that debuted during that evening's episode of
American Idol.

sorry but that label is awful. I will always love the old black and red grunge labels back in the day. Maybe black, red and gray don't warm people up to cherry coke. :(

I'm not sure how cherry coke is hip hop. I think Jay-Z is just trying to make as much cash as he can with endorsements for HP, Budweiser Select, and now Cherry Coke. Who's the target market? I'm not really impressed by the can either.

Who cares what the can looks like? I drink Cherry Coke like it is going outa style, but the can does not make any difference to me. I always use a can huggie and could care less if the can changes weekly.

Remember mission soda? I was a young kid the first time I drank it, it was great:) Coke was always the top of the line in selling product. It should have much more cherry in it and it will hit the top again :)

I agree with Dorian, I miss the black and red can! Diet Cherry Coke rocks! This new can looks too "cutsie"! Ahhh well, I am still drinking it! Eventually, the red and black can will be back when they say they are going "retro" or something...

Eh, it's okay, doesn't really stand out as something special to me, when I'm in the mood for cherry coke, the can's look makes no difference to me.

The "thug rapper" can't be too dumb, he's a multi-millionaire. What do you make, $7.50 and hour? The can looks great. Immediately you know you're dealing with cherries. Too bad for those who are so narrow minded, and believe there is only one of everything, and it should never change.

Who Cares!Either you drink it or you don't.Intelligent humans won't either buy or not buy based on the container.Geezeee, either you like Cherry Cola or you don't. All the container does is clutter up my trashbags.I hate cans!!!

who cares about the can. it is what is inside the can that counts. but i like both the new can and cherry coke. but it is sad people cant stand change in there life as little as a coke can. and Jay-Z must be smart if he had something to do with the design of the can and he owns a clothing line, part of a basketball team, has his hand in every commercial so stop hating on the man.

Cherry Coke is great. Vanilla Coke tastes like cream soda. Yuk! Now if they want a real winner they would come out with Chocolate Coke!!!!
