K-Fed Super Bowl commercial controversy

I know a number of our readers work in the restaurant industry so I'm looking for your opinion here.

A US restaurant association has expressed their concern over a Nationwide Insurance commercial starring Kevin Federline, which is set to debut during Super Bowl. In the ad, Britney's ex- is dreaming about being a rap star, but when he snaps back to reality, the scene shows him working in a fast food joint. A representative from the National Restaurant Association believes that it conveys the image that working in a restaurant is unpleasant and demeaning.

Personally, I think a Nationwide Insurance official said it best: "We're not making fun of anybody, except maybe Kevin Federline." What do you think? Does this ad sound like it conveys the image that working in a restaurant is demeaning, or are people taking it a little too seriously?

Let's say K-Fed woke up working in lawn care. Would we not hear from those who would contend the ad stereotypes Hispanics? Or he could have been an attorney and the ABA would be calling for a Congressional investigation. You can't please some of the people any of the time and the trend grows worse.

Secondly, I'd like to use this forum to publicly rant about how Nationwide Insurance is a despicable company who fails to value their good standing customers by dropping their policies after decades of paid premiums just because they live in Florida. SLUMMING = Kfed + Nationwide - what a team!

The reason i am able to say this is because i've spent several years as one of their employees. I worked there in both my teen and adult years but fortunately for me, i used the experience, ran with it, and got me a job paying 80k a year. A job is what u make it to be. Dont be sensitive bitches and try changing history and tradition. If u work at Mickey "d.s" dont be ashamed. Calvin also did it.

As long as people (myself included) are going to eat at fast food restaurants we are going to need someone to work at them. The only demeaning job is the one you refuse to do!

KEVIN FEDERLINE???I don't know about you, but with the "talent" he's shown, he'd be LUCKY to be working in fast food if it were up to me, or working in a garbage dump, or cleaning stables. Get real, NO TALENT FEDERLINE, without Brittany to buy out all his concert tickets, will soon change his tune about ANY type of job. I won't watch his commercial, or anything else he's on, simply because he's an annoying little "wanna-be"

K-FED should stick to what he has done best in the past, which is riding in on the coattail of some one that has already worked in the fastfood business and worked their way up to another profession and get his self a job at a fast food place and see what is is to really work hard.I worked fast food for 20 years and the people that i have worked with take pride in their job with the exception of a few it's generally the customers that treat them bad. Maybe people like K-FED....

It is an entry level job,but if your happy then go for it.Its not the job so much as what you make out of it.I know lots of people who never made more than ten dollars an hour their whole lives but have an ass load of money in the bank.As far as K-fed goes the only thing hes qualified to do is mooch off someone else i doubt he he would last a day at a fast food restaurant...

Lets just say this, If it werent for fast food workers, where the hell would you get your fries and burgers, or chicken or whatever it is you happen to stop in and get. Its those people that work there that make our lives a little more simple by being able to drive through and pick something up while on a road trip or running late getting home. Its not demeaning unless you want it to be. I worked in fast food as a teenager, I had to start somewhere right?? The worst thing to do is walk into a fast food restraunt and piss one of the employees off, they have the control over the food before it gets to your hands, so watch what you want to say. Everyone should be treated with equal respect weather they are a CEO or a burger flipper, atleast they have a job and arnt standing on a street corner with cardboard signs begging for your money, they are doing something to support their family or themselves. and thats all i have to say :D

I am sure most people shoving burgers and fries out a drive through are not making that a career anyway. Everybody needs to lighten up on this one. It is all in good fun and it harms no one.

I dont think he is beneath me, Im thankful my company pays someone to do it so I don't have to. I have lots of respect for him, I tell him thank you every day because I know my job isnt much different. Im in customer service, I provide a service to customers who call in and need something done about their freight. I serve people, doesnt matter if I have college behind it because basically I serve people, the same as a restuartant, fast food, construction, city workers, ect. They provide a service, anywho who provides a excellent service deserves respect, lousy service I dont appreciate. Maybe that is someones dream job,to make sure you get the best hot food out there, you should take pride in your job no matter what it is and you should be grateful people are willing to serve you food at fast food joints, otherwise youd have to pack your own damn lunch.
