According to CNN, Mexico president Felipe Calderon has signed an agreement with businesses "to curb soaring tortilla prices and protect Mexico's poor from speculative sellers and a surge in the cost of corn driven by the U.S. ethanol industry." It also moves to allow more importation of corn from countries like the US.So fire up those fryers and make up some tortilla chips. Your SuperBowl will have nachos! (At least, my SuperBowl will *phew!*)

1-19-2007 @3:35AM kelly O said... incredibly easy "tortilla soup..."....2cans of chicken stock....2 can of enchilada sauce...1/2 lb. sauted chicken, then garnish with.2 tomatoe's diced..... 1 TB. diced onion. 2 TB.cilantro.. 1 avacado diced..or 2...and some "queso seco"...dry mexican cheese ...or "jack cheese ".will do in a pinch.serve with a side of deep fried tortilla strips...assuming they wont be as expensive as caviar.. .and for you die hard american tastes......maybe a little sour cream...splash with you favorite hot sauce or salsa....you can tweek this one in many dirrections...have fun...
