The second best frozen dinner I've ever had

Boston Market Grilled BBQ Chicken Or it might be the very best, I don't know. #1 is probably still the Smart Ones Fire Grilled Chicken & Vegetables I reviewed last year, but this other one is coming on strong.

It's the new Boston Market Grilled Chicken with Mesquite BBQ Sauce and Ranch Mashed Potatoes. This, in a word, is fantastic. The BBQ sauce actually tastes like real BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes, which are usually one of the worst parts of any frozen entree or dinner, are the best frozen mashed potatoes I've ever tasted. They may even be better than the powdered stuff you buy in a box (if you are prone to do that). They're not all mushy and bland tasting (or worse, crusty and styrofoam tasting). The ranch flavor adds a nice kick too.

I'm not saying you should buy this in place of any BBQ chicken and mashed potatoes you might make at home. But hey, we all eat frozen foods at one time or another during the week, so I'd have a few boxes of this in the freezer for those times.

thanks for the recommendation. i tend to go with a mix of lean cuisines and trader joe's bowls when i need to take lunch to work. they taste okay, i think have less fat, and the lean cuisines are always on sale (though the portions are kind of small so sometimes i get the "dinner" version).

Amen! I love their Salisbury Steak and Mac & Cheese too. This line of dinners is one of the most flavorful and not "frozen" tasting ones I've ever found.

I used to buy frozen dinners for my lunches all the time until I started looking at the ingredients. Then I cut waaaaaaaay back. :) I've had good experiences with Boston Market frozen dinners in the past though, and this one looks and sounds really good. I think I'll stop at Ralphs on my way home tonight and get one and see if it's all that it can be. :)

Like Robyn, I really like Trader Joe's bowls (the Thai Green Curry is REALLY good), but I've been trying to make my own lunches lately. Portion control and quality are my main concerns. Plus I know that when I roast a pan of chicken thighs with lemon, honey and a mess of potatoes and garlic that there are no preservatives in sight.

I have fallen in love with the meat loaf and mash p.When they closed Boston Market here I cried! The creamed spinach is out of this world I would eat it like ice cream just give me a spoon!Dont like frozen meals, but this one is a top winner for me. The meat loaf is meaty but tender and you get two large portions and the mash p.are great!ok now Im hungry!
