The $21,000 refrigerator as minikitchen

As we saw earlier this week, high-design refrigerators have evolved so much that they make the once-chic Subzero look downright dowdy.

But could anything be further from the sleek Subzero than the refrigerator shown here? Yes, that's a fridge, not an armoire. At $21,000 the La Cambusa costs more expensive than the pimped out Swarovski refrigerator. It's part of the Meneghini line by Robeys whose web site says the design was inspired by a ship's galley. Perhaps one reason for the excessive cost is that like a gallety this fridge is a minikitchen. It features a coffee maker and steam oven. If I couold afford one for my apartment I'd rip out my stove and add some much-needed counter space.
