Perhaps this cookbook sounds as though it would have been better suited for a Friday Happy Hour post than a Saturday morning cookbook of the day, but the book is not really about how to spike your drinks, despite the name. Cappuccino Cocktails & Coffee Martinis: Specialty Coffee Recipes and 'A-Whole-Latte' more! is about coffee, in all forms. And really does offer "a whole latte" more than just recipes. It starts off with some basic information about growing and roasting coffee, then covers brewing methods, equipment and steaming or frothing milk (essential for the cappuccino parts of the book!). The end of the book covers the health benefits associated with coffee, as well as a few tidbits about caffeine and the decaffeination process, rounding out a good overall look at the subject of coffee.
Once you have the basics down, you're ready to move on to the recipes, which fall in the middle of the book. There are both hot and iced drinks, as well as instructions for flavored syrups and whipped cream toppings. And if you were curious, there are actual cocktail recipes included, but the focus is on the caffeine buzz with this book, no matter what kind of a drink it comes in.
