Not all appetite suppressants come in pill form. After all, food itself is an appetite suppressant. The trick is not to used hamburgers and macaroni and cheese, but to opt for more filling and less fattening alternatives. Fortunately, it is actually easy to incorporate some of these filling foods into your regular diet without totally changing the way you eat and without giving in to temptation too often.
Registered dietitians recommend high fiber, low fat foods as the best ways to fill up without filling out. Some top choices are:
- Pine nuts -- fatty acids in pine nuts trigger the release cholecystokinin (CKK), a hormone that could help suppress appetite.
- Spicy foods -- can boost your metabolism and "dull your taste buds so you're apt to eat less." On the positive side, the spices will taste great even if whatever you're tempted to eat after doesn't.
- Apples -- high fiber, low calorie. They have more fiber per bite than other fruits and one before a meal can help speed satiety.
- Milk -- the research is still up in the air, but some scientists think that the calcium in dairy can help break down fat.
- Light greens -- cabbage, celery and lettuce (as well as cucumbers) are very low in calories and can be added to most meals or salads to bulk them up.

I like it alone or mixed with Raisin Bran and or Grapenuts along with friut. It is good added to yogurt as a midmorning snack. Low in calories high in fiber and protien. Has a rich, toasty flavor.

Also psyllium husk has great benefits as well, found in metamucil and the such, is the best source of fiber, keeps you full, keeps you regular, lowers your cholesteral too! Can be taken up to 3 times daily with a full glass of water. I like to have it one half hour before I have my meals, then I tend to eat less.

(this is much like fiber one or the store brand sugar free bulking psyllium husk) To make the shake taste good, i add a banana sometimes and always FLAT diet flavored soda. I realize the soda is not that great for you, but adding the flavor tastes good. Also I have used some of the slim fast shake receipes. When I make them myself, I don't have as much sugar in them.

Just an FYI, I have tried the "appetite suppresants" and they don't work for me. So in a nut shell, even when I am full of good nutritious lowfat foods, I am still "hungry" and craving the fatty foods.

your synthroid (most common thyroid med) is taken in the morning BEFORE you eat Anything! Then 2 hours later you can eat, by then your thyroid medication has had a chance to absorb & the iron won't mess up your thyroid meds.

At least not enough to mention. It actually plays havoc on your body. If you are to drink milk I would recommend goat's milk.

Eat one cup of oat meal for midmorning snack and for dinner salmon with either a side of steamed broccoli , brussel sprouts , or asparagus . Balsamic vinegar drizzeled on brussel sprouts makes them tasty and bar b que ing asparagus briefly after a salt pepper olive oil toss is also delicious . eat your carbs early and get your fiber / fruit / veg before you even leave the door . I am thirty five and still feel like I an 15 .

Appetite supressants either don't work at all or harm your health. We all want a magic pill, but it doesn't exist (and if it did..it's probably kill you). It's just not easy! Drag!

Fat free or low fat yoghurt is a great option. You can put some musli in it or slice half of banana. The choice in flavors is huge so I'm sure there's one for you. Couple of rice cakes topped with an apple sauce, or a fruit spread, food bar, a cup of a fat free or low fat cottage cheese. Drink a lot of water that way you will put hunger hunger off for later.
