I always have the best plans around the holidays when it comes to food. I always have some mathmatical formula where I'm going to consume the least amount of calories possible. If I don't have any cookies, I can drink more. If I don't have any of my sister's brownies, I can have a third helping of stuffing.
It never works out though. I go back for seconds at my sister's house (ham, lasagna, chicken breasts, green bean casserole, various desserts), then have a turkey sandwich and stuffing later that night at home. I go to my other sister's Xmas Eve party and find myself eating pasta salad and grazing on tortilla chips, cheese, and trifle all night (and six beers - "light," but still). Then, on Xmas Day, another meal, this one consisting of turkey, oatmeal and sausage stuffing, yams with marshmallow topping, a bottle of wine, Oreo Cookie cake and cheesecake.
What did you have to eat the past few days?

Oreo Truffles, cake bars, cookie bars, chocolate-covered cherry cookies, sugar cookies, white chocolate peanut pie, chocolate pie, pecan pie, homemade bread, gingerbread muffins, 18 different casseroles (all with cream cheese as an ingredient), glazed carrots, sugared fruit. I'm actually not sure if we even served meat!

Christmas night: Korean BBQ (galbi), various kinds of kimchi, egg rolls, dumplings, and lots of beer (Newcastle)!
I love the holidays.

I'm a veggie, but I still ate myself into oblivion thanks to my Nonna preparing seven different vegetable (and cheese) and pasta dishes for me and my fellow-vegetarian cousin. I actually ate pretty healthfully on Christmas--my family usually does. At least until desserts come out. I started off well...a few grapes, a smidgen of cheese and an after dinner mint. Then, out came the Frangelico, Port, Sambuca, etc etc. Cheesecake, Panettone, cookies, chocolates, fruit tarts, brownies...I ate so much, I thought I'd burst! Not to mention that today I met my boyfriend's mother in the city for High Tea...and I ate like the dainty flower I am--of course, that was followed up with a nice big plate of pumpkin ravioli with cream sauce and a chocolate hazelnut dessert at Babbo! :) We're also having a huge New Year's party--so I'm sure much more food and eating is on the horizon!
