Fanpop came up with the brilliant, although somewhat unsettling by its very nature, idea of determining the creepiest fast-food mascots of all time. And there have been some scary ones. Number one on the list is The King, the Burger King mascot who seems to spend the majority of his time lurking, creeping, sneaking and turning people off actually visiting the restaurant for fear of encountering him. The other dubious icons on their list include the "Quiznos Rat/Hamster Thing," The Dominos Noid, Jack (from Jack in the Box), Grimace, Colonel Sanders, Mister Softee, Modern Ronald McDonald, Old-School Ronald McDonald (proto-Ronald) and the Tastee Freez Twins.
I actually kind of like the commercials that star Jack, especially when compared to other fast food commercials. The standard of writing is higher and Jack's delivery is usually great. The other choices, however, all seem like they deserve to be here. Anyone have a favorite from these contenders?

I beg to differ- I LOVE Jack!! The worst part about moving back to the East Coast from Arizona is the fact that I can't see Jack in the Box commercials anymore. Those were the highlight of TV- hilarious! How can you not love the Meaty Cheesy Boys and the Spicy Crispy Chicks?

The creepiest fast food mascot is the Burger King.
Just seeing him on the tube sends me packing. I can't stand him, and watching him run down the football
field dressed in royal garb complete with a pair of
tights just creeps me out even more!

I showed my boyfriend this article and he said, "that thing in the quizno's ad is an animal? i thought it was supposed to be a stomach."
There's a disappearing fast food chain in the Midwest called Rax - in the early 90s they had a mascot called Mr. Delicious. Mr. Delicious was this sleazy looking middle-aged guy in a plaid jacket, carrying a briefcase. He'd walk into Rax and comment on the low prices, which were good, because "my ex wife really took me to the cleaners!" And then he'd comment on the salad bar, saying he was trying to get more fiber in his diet. He was a pretty unpleasant character.

We love Jack here, too. One of our favorite lines to quote, is "Yo, Jackie- I soaked up Philly like a sponge!"

Quizno's "We've-got-a-pepper-bar" Thing is by *far* the wierdest thing to promote anything - food or other. You can't beat Jack for the best mascot: "So you have a problem with the French, no?!"

Anyone see the commercial with the guy waking up and finding the king in bed with him? The king looks at the guy and hands him breakfast. Then , the 2 are still in bed together laughing. The king laughs so hard he puts his hand on the guys leg...they look at each other for a second.. then the king takes his hand off his leg and they continue the laugh. The king is funny and no he doesn't scare me away from whoppers and such. Laugh america .. the king is funny.

The King - now he's tip toeing around and wearing masks. XBox wants us to pretend we're the burger king, stalking people. How psychotic is that! It's "Halloween" all over again, except you're the king with burgers instead of Mike Myers with a knife.

I have to say that that Burger King dude is the creepiest thing I have ever seen! What in the world is Burger King thinking? I wouldn't spend money there in the hopes that the creepy thing will lose his job and fall back into the pits from which he came.

I must comment on the burger king. He is by far, one of the bigest mistakes in Bk's marketing. I have been an loyal and big fan of burger king restaurants for over 35 years and have enjoyed many of their comercials. This creepy figure makes one question the integrity of the chain. What ever happend to wholesome family friendly jingles. We used to have it our way at burger king. Stop the creep show!!!!!

The Burger King is awful... totally has turned me off to the place. He is creepy and the strip show with that weird little wave and knee sneak peak in it... yuck! Just the thing we should be showing youngsters, a private strip box pole dancer... WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

I don't know why everybody thinks the King is so creepy! He is meant to be funny! I think he is the best mascot for a fast food restaurant in ages! The one that scares me is Ronald McDonald. Hanging around all those children with that creepy smile. It makes me sick!

It seems everyone has forgotten the Taco Bell dog. I personally liked him, but he was fired because it offended some interest groups. Kinda like why you won't see Speedy Gonzales cartoons anymore.

You know what else is creepy (but funny) from BK. That internet cartoon with the Burger King employee who sings the Burger King Song:
I work at Burger King making flame-broiled whoppers
I wear paper hats
Would you like an apple pie with that?
Would you like an apple pie with that?
Ding, fries are done (x4)
I gotta run (x4)

The Burger King is by far the creepiest mascot to come along... I remember the first commercial I saw with him... a guy was looking out the window one morning and there was the king. He glances away for a second, and when he looks back, the king is right up to the window! Geez!!! Talk about weird. And the one in bed is just freaky, not because it's a couple of guys, but because no one should wake up one morning and find a stranger in their bed!
