del frisco's orlando, FL - steak and lobster

If ever you needed an alibi when you're caught flipping through Maxim magazine, don't say "Jessica Alba." The men's magazine has picked the 10 Best Steakhouses in the US. Strangely, there's only one from Chicago and one from Texas, but multiple places from...Florida? Who knew? Here's the list, in no particular order:

Yes, I remember reading Jeffrey Steingarten saying that Florida actually has the best steakhouses doing it the old fashioned way.

I agree. I did a cross country road trip and stopped here for dinner and was less then impressed with the food.

Bern's in Tampa is a great one and boasts one of the bigger wine lists (and collections) of any restaurant. Tampa also has Charley's (my favorite), Shula's, Ruth's Chris, Fleming's, Palm, Capitol Grille, etc. Lots of good beef going down here.

Is that lobster? I don't know why But I have a thing against lobsters. I think I'm the only person I know who doesn't go ga-ga over lobster. Maybe it's because of the way they look.Creeps me out. But I do love my steak! ;D But I'm not so adventurous. I like mine well done. I like New York steakhouses...even with food and restaurants I go with the underdogs.

My boss and I went to Bern's when we were in Tampa, FL. The meal was incredible and included a kitchen and wine cellar tour before we went up to the Dessert Room. A great place but take your spouse - not your boss!!
