If you thought deep-frying Coca Cola was crazy, think again. And if you thought it was only Texas that will deep-fry anything, think again, again. Adam of Slice NY visits the Atliantic ChipShop in Brooklyn New York to get a taste of deep-fried pizza. According to Adam, the deep-fried pizzas "taste like a combination of a pizza roll and a mozzarella stick," but however he describes it, it only sounds...delicious. The photo here is fabulous, of course, but if you still want more, head over to Slice to take a peek at their video.

And with my favorite comfort food (besides sandwiches, which are a form of pizza anyway, or is it visa versa, debate, debate!!) It is visually appealing, and from the report, after school reminiscent. Being part Scot, also, most play into this hedonism. Get in my belly, things that my body can not easily break down to use, but that my taste buds will enjoy!

They recently added a deep fried pizza offering to their menu. Checking it out with a couple buddies of mine I have to say it was positively atrocious. The pizza just didn't hold up to the process, ending up mushy and tasteless.
I'm sure there's a way to do this right and I'll be first in line to taste test. But that ain't it. It's the first thing I've had there that's not quite spectacular.
Anyone know of someplace in nyc that does this right?

The batter is really light and gives it an entirely different flavor from regular pizza, esp if sprinkled with some malt vinegar. I didn't think it reminded me of either mozzarella sticks or pizza pockets. The texture was closer to fried breaded eggplant, with a regular cheese slice being the ersatz eggplant.
Definitely recommended!

The slice could certainly use some more quality, but the end result was different enough from pizza that this complaint is moot.
