It's a common scene in the movies. The family leaves the kitchen or dining room unguarded, distracted by some meaningful event, such as a proposal, death, natural disaster or mental breakdown - whatever constitutes "meaningful" in the movies these days - and returns to find most of dinner missing and Fido licking his chops on the floor.
Unless you have a big dog with quick reflexes, it's more likely that your pup or your cat will snag a bite or two of food than a whole meal. And just about everyone who has owned an animal has caught them red-pawed at one time or another. Now, that's not my kitten in the picture and I probably would have shooed him away before thinking to snap a photo, but that is an extremely cute shot that brings up the question of what "people foods" do your pets tend to go for when they have the chance?
Personally, I've had a cat that would go for macaroni and cheese if I wasn't looking and neighbor whose dog would watch for unguarded egg dishes (making brunch a tricky meal to enjoy).
I'll be keeping a closer eye out the next time I make waffles, just in case.

Another one love peanut Butter and Fluff sandwiches. she will also veggies, loves brocolli. she will even turn down meat for veggies. I have known cats that love melon, esp. honeydew or cantalope. And a siamese cat who eat corn on the cob like Marjies. Dinner in my house is always a battle to see who gets more food, us or them.

My Polydactl Mazzy will steal a whole steak right off your plate if you dont watch him, and if we are eating chicken wings you can hear him purr from across the room. Of course we dont let him have any, the bones are too brittle, he also lives for Ham, and will say "ham" if we hold up a piece. My other cat gypsy, doesnt even know human food exists.

She loved chicken, and I often thought she was taking whatever she could get, hoping it was chicken. The strangest things she ever stole were an olive pit and an empty ear of corn. We actually had to put childproof locks on the cabinets because she'd get into the trash under the sink the day after chicken was cooked.
I have friend whose cat is nuts for canteloupe too.

One evening we were eating dinner on the floor and watching the kittens play, and the next thing I know I'm looking down to see this tiny kitten ever so sneakily making off with a spaghetti noodle (one that was far too long for her to get away with easily). Little did I know this would be the first of many meal-stealing sessions of hers.

He loves to lick pancake syrup off the plate, and once even walked off with nearly a whole hoagie (sub for you non-Philadelphians).
