Amazon is selling gift certificates to restaurants that range in value anywhere from $10 to $25, but selling them for a fraction of that value. For example, a $25 gift certificate for the New York Deli in Century City (Los Angeles) is only $10. The certificates are provided by restaurant.com and are for quite a long list of cities. They might not be the highest end restaurants out there, but the places that are participating are decent enough for a good meal. There are some restrictions on the certificates, e.g. "dine-in only" and/or "weekdays only," but for the most part, it doesn't seem like a bad deal.
I wonder if they'll ever have one for The French Laundry.

my family has used restaurant.com certificates for years and at a rate of at least 90% success. back in the day you never knew if the person in charge of the restaurant actually authorized it or if the location was still around. these days it's more reliable, though there are more restrictions which you have to take into account like minimum number of people or specific nights to use.
also, you'll get coupon codes in email after buying for the first time to reorder directly from restaurant.com for 1/2 off or better sometimes.

Every so often Restaurant.com has a 60% off sale. You can usually find it in blog feeds of digital deals and other discount trackers. Get a $25 coupon for $4.00!
I see it about once a month. That may dry up during the fall and holiday season, but keep a lookout for it.
