We already know that not all prepackaged food combinations are a good idea (like the hot dogs with microwaveable buns), but manufacturers cannot resist trying to come up with new ones anyway. Pancakes & Sausage on a Stick is a frozen breakfast food, an all-in-one breakfast that is ready after just two minutes in the microwave. As good as chocolate chip pancakes are, the idea of a frozen chocolate chip pancake wrapped around a sausage just doesn't sound all that tempting. Possibly even less tempting is the blueberry pancake variety that is listed on the Jimmy Dean site.
This is one food that sounds as if it would have a better reception at a state fair, with other foods on sticks, where it can be with its own kind.

My 6 & 1 year old love these. My hubby likes the plain pancakes with the sausage, but I try not to buy them that often. I personally think they are gross, but I am one of those people that only eat one thing at a time. I have found it much easier to actually cook my own homemade pancakes and freeze them for something quick in the morning.

oh dear god, no! our household loves all kinds of foods on a stick, so much so that it's often a family joke (recently we concocted the notion of lobster tail on a stick with a melted butter core for the ease of eating!) but this is just gross. we cannot even convince the kids to try regular corndogs because they have a (healthy) suspicion of any processed meat products that they cannot see.
honestly, kids like their food to be fun, but it also has to be real food and throwing just any food on a stick doesn't automatically constitute fun. it also has to taste good. adding chocolate chips (or blueberries) to sausage clearly fails on all fronts.

I have eaten these since I was 2 if I remember correctly. I am now 23. They have been in Texas since then. The blueberry ones are actually really good. I dip them in either maple syrup, or grape jelly, depending on if I get blueberry or regular. In Texas they are called Flapsticks (or used to be, I don't live there anymore) yeah, they look and sound gross.. but I love them.

These look like the McGriddles buns. But these are kinda weak, I mean they could have coated them in some kind of cereal and deep fried them first. Or better yet, cover them in frosting.

My kids love these. My oldest dips them in syrup and my youngest likes them plain. They are great for the mornings that we are running behind schedule and I don't have time to cook a homemade breakfast.

Those may look good, but the concept is disgusting. Now I like corndogs, but I would NEVER put chocolate chips or blueberries in the "corn" surrounding the hotdog. If they were just regular plain pancakes surronding the sausage it might be good, but with those flavors yuck!

My son first had these in preschool. All the kids loved them. It was one of their favorite breakfasts! Now my whole family enjoys them. It is a quick-fix breakfast which includes a protein which is good. What a great idea!

I LOVE plain pancake-wrapped sausage on a stick. It is a delicious, convenient way of eating what is essentially a McGriddle sandwich on a stick.

Come on people... apples, bananas and oranges take less time in the morning. And what about the improved and healthier oatmeals in a packet. Orange juice and wheat toast with honey or preserves is another quickie. Mom's, not only are the alternatives less expensive and so obviously better for you and your babies, the long term benefits of teaching your children good eating habits at young age is proven to be effective. Plus, they will do better in school, stave away lessor infections and the energy in the aforementioned foods will give them long term energy required to get off the sofa and outside on the playing field. It's not too late to apply this healthy and loving way to provide your family the very best you want them to have... (This kind of prepackaged marketing crap just infuriates me.)

This is why Americans are fat. Give your kids something healthy and natural for breakfast. They don't need to be having sausage, along with the sugar and crap that is in the maple syrup and chocolate. It's breakfast!! Whatever happened to toast and a bit of cheese, fruit or healthy cereals? I'm certainly not a health freak- My kids get their fair share of sweets, but processed fried foods are just asking to have health problems.

Does anyone not remember pigs in a blanket? It's the same thing except it's on a stick. And about chocolate chip pancakes, my daughter loves them. In fact, those are the only type of pancakes she eats. They are actually really good. I might have to buy some of these for my daughter to try.

I first ate the sausage and pancake on a stick when I was in high school and they started serving breakfast. They would sometimes have the plain and sometimes the blueberry. This is nothing new. My little podunk high school had these 10 years ago.
I still eat them occasionally. I am a substitute teacher and sometimes do not know if I am working until an hour before I have to be at a school. Considering that it takes me nearly a half hour to get to most of the schools that I may work at this leaves me only a half an hour to get ready, make a lunch, eat breakfast and get out the door. If I am out of the "healthy" alternatives that Jess mentioned something like this is quick, easy and can be eaten while driving to whatever my work destitnation is that day.

Repulsively nasty, these things are. Just like the "lunchables" that the parents who were buying them couldn't have possibly read the fat grams in or certainly would NOT have bought for their children. Wake up, America. It's time to get real with what we are feeding our kids.

Someone on here mentioned pigs and blankets; she was exactly right, this Jimmy Dean breakfast is merely the same as pigs and blankets, but with the convenience of putting them in the microwave while you are getting ready for the day and on s stick which can save dirtying a dish. I would love it if I had the luxury of time to cook a decent well balanced meal in the morning before I had to go to work, but I don't. So I appreciate this type of item that is good tasting, as well as convenient and is not as expensive as stopping at a fast food drive through. The blueberry are great and so are the plain ones, we have not seen the chocolate chip flavor.
Too bad people bash stuff before they even try it!
