Wow.It has taken a long time to rebuild, but the point is that they have done it, and still are. After the devastation left behind by Hurricane Katrina, one of New Orleans' landmarks, The Commander's Palace, on the corner of Coliseum and Washington off of St. Charles in New Orleans' upscale Garden District, will be re-opening this weekend. Sunday, October 1 will be service of their first brunch since being hit by Katrina in August of last year.

I was very dissapointed in the food here.
there are many far superior restarants in New orleans at half the price.
dont go here. it's a waste.

Anyway, I disagree, we went a bit before the storm and had a wonderful experience. The food was great and the service was even better. They made us feel warm, welcome, and invited.

Very 'old new orleans' service, a captain, a waiter, a bus-boy catering to your every whim. The food was to die for. duck/oyster gumbo was delicious, the veal platte over lobster boudin, most creative and scrumptous. Dessert was not to be outdone, the bread pudding souffle and creme brulee was outstanding! A must to go for all of us locals AND tourists alike!

The food is incredible and surpassed only by the service. It is a treasure and I go there every time I am anywhere close to New Orleans. I'm thankful that they have rebuilt and cannot wait to return.
