A recent Australian study, the first of its kind, revealed that people who shop for groceries online tend to make better food decisions than those who don't. The reason for this was that when customers searched for one product - milk, for example - lower fat options were shown as a result, as well as the full-fat. Since they took the time to read the options on screen, as opposed to grabbing a carton and moving to the next item on their list, many shoppers chose the low-fat option. This happened with just about every food group.
Interestingly, the study also showed that the shoppers continued these habits, choosing the same, healthier products on multiple shopping "trips." When further nutritional advice was offered, consumers made even better choices.
The study tells us that when people take the time to really think about what they're doing or buying, people will tend to make better choices than when they're just taking the first thing that comes to mind. This is a good sign that messages about food choices and health are sinking in.

There is also the delivery driver factor.
Anymore, I frequently use home delivery services for heavy items I don't want to lug around. Big bags of ice, dog food, even cases of water and beverages.
However, when I was using it for more frequent and regular purchases, my driver got so friendly with me, he wasn't beyond saying "In a candy mood this week, huh?" It wasn't like he was judging my purchases, but since a personal shopper is going aisle by aisle and assembling your groceries, and the driver goes over the order with you and checks off what wasn't included "Sorry, they are all out of Oreo Cookie Crumbs and mini chocolate chips..." -- there IS that feeling that maybe you ought to throw in some vegetables and meat instead of Lucky Charms, Cheetohs, Pepsi, and Ice Cream!

It would be much healthier for me because I get really stressed out going to the bigger grocery stores. People leaving carts in the parking lot that end up hitting vehicles (that irritaes me so bad!), people standing in the middle of the aisle to chat with each other blocking the aisle, someone stopping right in front of you because their cell phone rings, kids running through the store and almost knocking customers down or screaming to the top of their lungs because they want that "oh so healthy" Trix cereal, and my favorite....the cashier has to flash her light because of check authorization or better yet, a $0.75 price issue on an item for some woman that has a 5 ct.diamond ring on her finger, Gucci pumps and a $400 Dooney purse! I swear, there are times that I have actually paid part of the bill just so they would get their stupid @$$ from in front of me. Then I would like to run them over in the parking lot. Oh....that was just one trip this pst week. Yep....it would be much healthier for me to have groceries delivered.
