Slashfood Sandwich Day is just over a week away

caprese panini

It's Wednesday night. Do you know where your sandwich is?

We hope so, because we want to see it next Thursday, September 21, for Slashfood's Sandwich Day. We'll be in the kitchen all day slapping all kinds of good things between two slices of bread. We plan to post all day about all things sandwich-y, and if you have one to share between now and next Thursday, let us know via our Tips line. We'll be posting roundups of our readers' sandwiches throughout the day.

NANA

9-20-2006 @7:31PM NANA said... I AM ONE DAY AHEAD OF THE GAME... AND A FEW EXTRA POUND'S LOL BUT BY FAR SANDWICHES ARE MY FAVORITE FOOD. I SAY TRY A "GRAND NEWYORKER" TAKE A LONG RUSTIC ROLL SPREAD FRENCH DRESSING GENEROUSLY ON BOTH SIDES.THEN ADD A FEW SLICES OF A GOOD BRAND OF SWISS CHEESE ON ONE SIDE OF THE BREAD & A FEW SLICES OF BLACK BEAR ROASTBEEF OR ANY KIND OF DELI SLICED ROASTBEEF TO ONE SIDE OF THE BREAD THEN IN A PAN SAUTEE'A SMALL THINLY SLICED THE LONG WAYS RED ONION IN A LITTLE OIL. THEN TOP THE SANDWICH WITH THE ONION AND CLOSE IT BRUSH THE OUTSIDE WITH MELTED SALTED BUTTER AND PUT IN A PANNI PRESS OR ON A FLAT SURFACE COOKIE SHEET IN THE OVEN TILL BOTH SIDES ARE KRISP. KICK BACK AND ENJOY GREAT FOOTBALL SUNDAY GAME SNACK OR ADD SOME CAPE COD KETTLE CHIPS, CHERRY TOMATOES, AND A PICKLE TO THE SIDE AND MAKE IT A PICNIC STYLE DINNER EITHER WAY SANDWICHES ROCK
