If you could be honored with an ice cream flavor...

Cornell University's new president was honored with his very own ice cream flavor from the Cornell Dairy as part of a tradition that the campus-run dairy started several years ago. The new flavor is called Banana-Berry Skorton, a blend of chocolate ice cream with banana and raspberry swirls. The previous presient's flavor was known as Inauguration Swirl, and featured a mocha swirl in chocolate ice cream.

One would assume that they are taking into account the flavors that the presidents like - after all, a vanilla ice cream fan wouldn't want a chocolate ice cream. If you could choose to have an ice cream named after you, what flavor would you want it to be? Mint chocolate chip? Cannoli? Cookie dough?

Actually, I would find a ultra-rich vanilla-chocolate marble acceptable as well. The problem is how to fit Electro into the name.

Okay, I'd settle for lemon ice cream with dark chocolate chips.

Or cherry ice cream with marshmallows, pecans, coconut, and bits of cherry.

In the spirit of being healthy I'd take a soy based "ice cream" - chocolate with peanut butter swirl. Yummy!

If that isn't feasible, calamari's cherry ice cream concoction sounds fabulous -- or perhaps a Cherry Rum Cake. Cherry ice cream, rum cake pieces, almonds, and I'm good to go.

Am I the only one who caught on to the idea that you are supposed to name the flavor after yourself? Like maybe Cherry Rum Cake Kristina? How about Pam's Peanut Butter Swirl? Chocolate Walnut Fudge ala Kevin?

The names just add panache to the flavor combinations. Think Ben & Jerry's.

While at lunch today an idea hit me. Black Rum and Hennessy Cognac French Vanilla Egg Nog Holley (my real last name) Just in time for Christmas and most people misspell it as Holly anyway.

Good night and good luck.
