Most candy stores - particularly those that display their wares in plastic bins with small scoops to dish the candies into individual bags - stock a wide variety of gummy candies: gummy worms, orange slices, sour cola bottles, etc. Some candy stores in the UK are stocking a more unusual gummy, a beer-flavored one. Dubbed pint pots, after the old-fashioned handled beer glasses, the candies taste just like beer. They are nonalcoholic, but it makes you wonder who exactly these candies are marketed to. I know that I don't see a whole lot of adults perusing the selection at candy stores.
Frankly, these actually seem a bit worse than candy cigarettes, which at least don't taste like the real thing, potentially developing a taste for the product they're based on in young candy-lovers.

I might like this kind of candy for an occasional taste treat since all my doctors have threatened to surgically remove my hands if I have a sip of beer. Damn this diabetes. I can occasionally have a small morsel of candy without incident and beer-flavored gummies would be an interesting treat.
Giving it to kids? I don't think I would ever approve of that.

Wine flavored gums are very popular and have been around for decades. Adult oriented chocolate and cady with alcohol and alcohol flavors have been around for hundreds of years so this is nothing new.
Research has proven that it's nonsense that candy flavored with beer or wine, or candy cigarettes, cause children to drink or smoke. Please do your research before making comments like that. Alcohol and tobacco use is caused by social factors such as seeing family, friends, and role models using them.

If the argument is candy+alchohol is wrong, or that all candy is aimed at children (paricularly less "chic" gummies) then I beg you to revisit chocolates with liquor added, rum balls and so forth.

They also have something over there called "Shandy" - beer and lemonade mixed. Can't remember the percentage of alcohol (may have been just 2-3%) but kids could purchase.
