This is a cute table. It has a retro-futuristic look to it - like something that they might have had on the Jetsons. The unusual feature is that it holds a six-pack of beer in the center, making it the ideal table for beer drinkers (though you could certainly put other bottles in the holders). The Beertable, described by the designer simply as "beer+table=beertable" seems to still be in the design stage, and not in actual production, so this seems like the perfect time to gather some commentary on it.
Do you like it or hate it? And more importantly, would you buy it if it were released?
I could easily see it in a diner, or used as a buffet table with snacks if a group is getting together to watch a big game. It would be better, perhaps, if it had a cooling unit in it for the beer or soda, but with only six bottles, it's unlikely that they'd last long enough to get warm anyway.

Please. This concept flies in the face of what beer drinking is all about: relaxing with friends. I'm supposed to put my beer back into a little holder after every sip? Much too restrictive for cocktail hour.
This table does however, have some potential as a space-saver when eating a meal that is messy and takes up a lot of space: BBQ, crab/lobster bake, crawfish, etc. It also might be a good concept for a boat, but not with those legs.

No, I would not buy it.
I could see it in Frat houses all across the country though. It's the perfect surface for those long nights of beer-pong playing.

It's cute, but if you're sitting at one of the ends, it looks like it'd be really hard to reach your beer. Which might pose a problem if you've already had one too many...I'm not enough of a drinker to actually want to buy one, but someone who drinks a lot and has a lot of parties might.

And another thing...it'd be great for a Superbowl party. I was in grad school in Baltimore the year the Ravens played in the Superbowl (what was that? 2000 or 2001?). I shared an apartment with a guy I'd been friends with since high school, and we threw a HUGE Superbowl party. So huge my sister drove up from North Carolina to hang out with us. This table would have been great to have for that party.

Silly, silly, silly. No, I would not buy it. I like my beer ice cold, straight from the freezer for at least 10 minutes. How silly to keep replenishing the bottle holders. Did I mention it's silly?

Well I'm Canadian and I figure the best place to have your beer is in your hand, plain and simple. Besides the beer on that table would be warm, and alot of folks use koozies. Nice idea but not too practical in my mind.

Redesign it as a game table. Then the idea might be worth doing. Or make it smaller with a built in umbrella to take to the beach as a personal beer stand. Also, Linda was right: it needs a cooler built in. That would make it even better for the beach.
This design is silly. I'm going to go take a nap now.

It's kind of fun but I wouldn't use it as the original function denotes....seems like it might make for interesting centerpiece display (bottles with flowers in it?) or even- for that buffet idea everyone has had- putting the utencils, napkins, etc etc in the holders.
