You got French fries in my Frosty

I've always thought that, "Do fries come with that shake?", was one of the worst pickup lines ever. Now Wendy's has answered that question. Not only do fries come with the fast-food spot's Frostys, many customers like to dip their fries into the semifrozen treats.

In the runup to launching its new Frosty flavor this week, Wendy's decided to research the phenomenon of Frosty dipping. The company found 194,000 results when it Googled "fries and frosty." Research, conducted this week for Wendy's, shows that 26% of adults 18 or older have dipped French fries into a Frosty, or know someone who has.

When I read this research I thought studying Frosty dipping was a marketing ploy. It is, but it turns out that the practice does exist. Back in February, Delicious Time, posted the accompanying photo. I've never Frosty dipped and can scarcely remember the last time I even had a Frosty. How many you out there have done the dip? And for those of you who have, would you dip with the new vanilla flavor?

I'd give the vanilla a try, but I can't imagine it would be as good as the chocolate. Yum!

I stick to ketchup, bbq sauce, or ranch dressing if it's there. I also dip my pizza into ranch, bleu cheese, or garlic sauce if the pizza company provides it.

Gross? Sure. Fat = flavor.

He then taught me to break the saltines into bite-size pieces and mix a handful at a time into the top layer of the Frosty and eat it with a spoon. It was so good! You can't add too much at one time, cause they'll get soggy before you eat them. I still do this sometimes.

I suppose some poor souls are so driven to madness by this confusing concoction that they try to use a fry as a compromise.

I don't crush them up personally...I scoop with the crackers. Making it a sort of Frosty-salsa.

Sweet and salty, my favorite.

Although to be perfectly honest, I'm much more likely to eat at a diner or "classic" burger place (think Johnny Rockets) than Wendy's these days.

But yes, ice-cold, creamy chocolately goodness combined with searing hot, salty fries is wonderful!

For the disbelievers, note that for the best flavor, the fries have to be scalding hot, to where you wouldn't want to eat them yet.. then dip that in the frosty and the sweet ice cream headache mixed with the salty scalding potato on the inside... it's one of the best treats ever. Once the fries cool off, it's not so great... so I usually only get to dip half the box.

Today I tried it with the new vanilla flavor... not so great. Tastes like french fries and ice cream... not the same thing. The frosty does have a nice vanilla flavor, it's just not as good as the other flavor, it's not signature at all, it's just another flavor. Tastes more like what McD's vanilla shakes were before the thriple-thick days... when it was all foamy and artificial tasting.
