McDonald's is really trying hard to shake it "unhealthy" fast food reputation (though I wonder if any fast food doesn't have that reputation). It started with the introduction of salads - remember the McSalad Shakers? Recently, it's been the Apple and Walnut Salad, and the Asian salad. And now, in Australia, McDonald's is trying to expand itself by trying out Asian fusion flavors on their menu - Thai, Indian, and Italian, not just for the health factor, but to appeal to "sophisticated palates." The new dishes are: lemongrass chicken with penne pasta, rendang beef and penne pasta, beef bolognese penne pasta, and orange, lime and ginger chicken.
Sophisticate palate or not, wouldn't you rather go to a Thai, Italian, or Indian restaurant to eat Thai, Italian or Indian food? Not McDonald's.

I agree, a poor person could not afford the prices at McDonald's these days and the dollar menu is worthless. What happened the the hamburger, fries and a coke for a buck days? Besides all that, McDonalds needs to clean up their act just a little bit in order to compete with Wendy's selections. I would much prefer their food over McDonald's anyway.

Well, people have a point on both sides, yes Micky D's needs more verity and yes the food does suck btu it is fast food and the food is kinda...kinda mind you...cheaper than a acaully good meal...i mean...COME ON!!! for six bucks...you should =nt expect much...and from McDonalds...please...go to ...Applebee's for example...you can get a great salade which is much more filling and better for you than the Fast food ones...and its like...one dollar more...to cant expect fast food places to be healthy they are there for the molah!!!!

It's your own responsibilty, Cooking dinner at home is still the cheapest way to feed a family. Burgs & fries are okay once in a while guys! I think fast food is mostly used by people who eat alone, not with big families......

Baked potato's well thats not what fast food is all about, go to Outback Steak House if you want a baked potato. Hey! Mc D's it's time to lower them prices on your hamburgers and sm fries. A family of five cost us over $30..pizza night is cheaper..
