Full Belly doesn't ask the all important question regarding this kitchen gadget - WHY? Why on earth would anyone want to make hard boiled eggs square? Or at least 'edged' as results as displayed via this flickr set do not seem that successful.
It is a Chinese invention by the look of the packet but Full Belly has tracked down an online stockist. The Gadget Source has it listed for for $2.99.

well, a whole bunch of deviled eggs would sure pack better into a rectangular Tupperware container if they were square. And if the party was *really* dull there would be something to talk about.

I've had several for going on 20 years now. Great for parties & conversaion pieces. Fantastic for bringing out hard boiled eggs to an engineering company picnic - really gets people talking.

I have been composing a post about this device for a while but have yet to post it bc it is an emotional topic for me.
I grew up with one of these and they are still made the same way. My Granny had one in the 1980's and I think it was a weird Nouvelle Cuisine fad type deal. But I loved it.
While rice is an easy-to-prepare grain, removing its residue from pots and pans is no small feat. With these tips, it's a breeze.
