A bagel lover can spend days, even weeks, trying to find a toaster that will comfortably fit extra-wide bagel slices. With most toasters, you end up having to stuff a bagel half in a too-small slot, which inevitably results in a bagel that is burned on one side. And that's all after you contend with those plastic "bagel slicers" that squish the bagel more effectively than they cleave it. The Westinghouse ToasterSlicer both toast and slices - and it is designed specifically for bagels.
Toast - and slice - bagels perfectly

right now and my toaster is equipped for handling
bagel slices. As for slicing it? Pre-sliced bagels are
not tabu around here.

7-20-2006 @1:12PM Kate said... And people called me crazy for buying the toaster that also poaches eggs. That little toaster makes perfect soft boiled, hard boiled, and poached eggs on toast. Pop in a slice of toast, pop in my eggs, and when I come out from brushing my teeth, a poached egg is waiting for me. It has dramatically increased my frequency of a healthy breakfast, and I always have hard boiled eggs on hand. So, if bagels are your thing, go for it. Pity we can't figure out a way to do all of it -- slice an toast a bagel, poach an egg, fry some bacon and brew some coffee -- without even visiting the kitchen. Oh wait. It's called a restaurant!
