Taoists in Asia are upset by a recent KFC video commercial that depicts an old Taoist holding a chicken burger and claiming it as a masterpiece to his surrounding apprentices. The backdrop and the old Taoist' s clothing simulate a scene from the movie Seven Swords, a highly regarded film in the Chinese community.
Cultural experts are saying that the commercial dishonors Chinese history because the old Taoist Fu Qingzhu in the fiction Seven Swords is a real historical figure, and it "is ridiculous to have Fu recommend chicken burgers because he and most Taoists are vegetarian."
Geez, KFC, maybe you shoulda sed the concept to advertise your mashed potatoes.
