I'll keep my opinion about this Haagen-Dazs contest being turned into an entire show on the Food Network to myself for now. The more important part of this story is that the winner of Food Network's SCOOP! contest to pick the next Haagen-Dazs ice cream flavor was chosen. The winning flavor is Sticky Toffee Pudding and will be sold as a limited-edition flavor in grocery stores.
Sticky Toffee Pudding is a dessert of British origin, consisting of a steamed brown sugar cake with a toffee sauce contained within itself. Haagen-Dazs Sticky Toffee Pudding ice cream is made from a creamy vanilla ice cream base with chunks of moist, brown sugary cake with swirls of gooey toffee sauce.

Stickey Toffee Pudding didn't sound very appealing to me. I'm imagining that it would have been very, very sweet. Neither did the coconut one. I don't like coconut and I wonder if they were able to keep a brittle-like texture with the sesame candy that would actually "crunch".
I think I would have preferred the Canoli and I'm already hatching a plan to introduce some mascarpone, some chopped chocolate & pistachio and some candied citron to a vanilla base and freeze it up. Only thing is right now is the time to make things with all the fabulous fresh fruit that's available. I'll try the canoli thing in the fall when it will be nice to be able to use other ingredients that aren't so perishable.

Boo.
The Cannoli sounded good, too. I'll try the Sticky Toffee Pudding, but it was my 3rd choice of the 3.
I wrote Haagen-Daz encouraging them to release all 3 flavours... even if LE.
I recommend the rest of you to do the same, if you agree.

Not as sweet as you might think, and the cake tasted just like a spice cake to me--wonderful balance of flavor and texture. I am broken-hearted that it's limited edition; it's good enough to stay put.
Try it!

He went out looking for the ice cream the next day, but we didnt know it has not been released yet.
And an answer to the person regarding the toffee sauce it is supposed to be swirled in the ice cream.

But since i never had sticky pudding, I was curious and bought a pint today. Very disappointing! It's a flavor that reminds me of any vanilla-based ice cream with caramel sauce. Nothing special, really, in my "testers" opinion - our family of 4 and 2 neighbors.
