Erik over at Gadling recently posted about the Press-Bot, a French press-style filter designed to fit in a Nalgene bottle. As you can see, the filter folds up to fit in the bottle, and the pour spout on top has threaded edges so that the the cap of the Nalgene can still be sealed. Incidentally, Bodum has offered the similar Travel Press for years. At first I was a little skeptical about the idea of putting hot liquids in a Nalgene, the Nalgene website says they're OK for hot and cold drinks alike. Still, I'm not sure if this is the ideal thing to carry coffee in. It might be best to throw it in a thermos after brewing.Nalgene French press

you can skip the thermos, there is a neoprene cover for your nalgene. check it out here: http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&productId=48027153&parent_category_rn=40000902&vcat=REI_SEARCH
I use nalgene storage cans to take food to work for lunch. Not only do they seem to survive microwaving with the food in them, but you can even boil water in them in the microwave. For that matter, I accidentally left the lid screwed on and microwaved it, and it didn't explode. Thank god.
You know those American Harvest convection ovens that used to be on infomercials? The dome on them is made of polycarbonate, just like a nalgene.
i randomly got to this website.. not sure if you guys will ever come back to read this, but
it's a really bad idea to put hot liquids into a polycarbonate container (like a nalgene). even at room temperature, these plastics leech bisphenol A into liquid, which has caused birth defects and miscarriages in labratory animals. i would personally never place a hot liquid into a nalgene, and i would ESPECIALLY never microwave it.. microwave + plastic is a whole other ball of carcinogens.
