These insulated six-pack holders are perfect for road trips. Unlike a cooler or ice chest, they take up no trunk space, but still keep drinks nice and cold. They'll retain heat for hot drinks, too, but I can't think of too many bottled hot drinks that you'd want to carry around. The totes ($20) can hold both bottles and cans, since the neoprene pockets are stretchy, and the ergonomic handle makes the holders to carry if you want to take it to a ballgame or on a hike.
But I'm sure you don't need my suggestions to come up with places that you'd like to take a six-pack to, right?

I have a small car (Miata), so space is limited, and I usually carry stuff on my passenger seat. This looks smaller than even the little cooler I've been using.

how about for the office runner, who has to pickup a multitude of specialized coffee drinks from the local coffee bar? beats those flimsy drink carriers that hold 4 cups max...

What do I use it for? I often carry mixed six packs of beer to friends' homes or to bring out a few beers to the block party in our cul de sac. It works well for cans and bottles, its not wasteful like a six-pack holder (especially if you buy cases or bring homebrew) and its super convenient. I'd guess I use it twice a month.
Andre, I wouldn't want to try and put a coffee cup in here. I think the neoprene would crush the cups and you'd have a major mess. Stick to cans and bottles.
