"Veggie burger" doesn't always sound appetizing, unless you make them at home. However, we don't always have the time to cook beans, grains, and vegetables, process them, and then make burgers. The Vegetarian Times' sampled different store-bought vegetarian burgers and rated them.
- Best all-around burger - Quorn Chicken-Style Patties
- Best fast-food style burger - Boca All-American Flame Grilled
- Best spicy burger - Boca Spicy Chik'n Patties
- Best traditional veggie burger - Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Patties
- Best mushroom burger - Gardenburger Savory Portabella
- Best California Style Burger - Amy's California Veggie
- Best Tex-Mex - Dr. Praeger Tex Mex
- Best "unique" burger - Dr. Praeger Bombay patties
- Best Vegan Burger - Whole Foods Vegan

Personally, I prefer the Morningstar Farms Grillers best of all.

the quorn patties are good and have a great texture, but i love the courage burger by soyboy. it only recently became available at the whole foods here (mt. washington, baltimore area) but if you can find it make sure you try it out.

I'm surprised that Lick's Nature Burgers did not make the list. The texture is far superior to Boca, although they are terrible when microwaved (pan cooking only!).
