Ice cream that will make you break out in a Cold Sweat

cold sweat ice cream with hot peppersIn a small ice cream parlor along NC 55 in Angier, North Carolina, the hottest, and we really do mean "hottest" flavor is called Cold Sweat.

Sunni Sky's owner, Scott Wilson, has created an ice cream with the milk, sugar and the other usual ingredients, but also includes three kinds of peppers and two kinds of hot sauce: Dave's Insanity Hot Sauce, Blair's Megadeath Hot Sauce, chile peppers, habaneros and Thai chiles. One of the ice cream shop's regular customers was a taste tester. He said it tasted like "fire -- with a side of fire."

Not sure what the draw is to something that is painful going in, and will likely be painful coming out. However, I am guessing that it's refreshing on a very hot summer's day. Ice cream is cool, and sweating (from the peppers and hot sauce), as we know, has a cooling effect as well.

I'd rather turn on the A/C.

Fine for those who like to experiment -- I'll stick to the good old Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavors. That's what I used to buy from a horse-drawn ice cream wagon - five cents for one dip, ten cents for a double.

If we had that, we would be real sick. The people who make up spicy foods, including ice cream or anything for that matter, should use their heads and realize people have allergies and cannot have that stuff. Spice is in everything here and we are in Florida. You can't even buy a frozen dinner or meal out down here with the pepper and spice as it is. We are so limited on foods because of jerks like this!

You can get it in chocolate or vanilla, but we like the chocolate best. There's something about the deep, aromatic taste of chocolate blended with the deep, aromatic tast of garlic, in a sweet, cold ice cream that's to die for.

There is absolutely no reason for it......but we do live in a world of freaks and this is just more proof of it. I like to think I am a little on the wild side when it comes to how I live my life but to think someone would actually enjoy an ice cream made with hot peppers or hot sauce....think about it....

guess this is Scott's way of getting his 15 mins of fame. As ridiculous as it is, it made it onto AOL, along with a comment box so if you want your name up in lights, just do something really stupid or ridiculous. Kinda pathetic that these are the types of things that make it into "headlines".
Anybody (other than someone who is pregnant) who likes ice cream with hot pepper has really weird taste.

But I would guess there were some who liked it. To each his own.
