A recent MSNBC story by dietitian Karen Collins explains why berries have recently been given 'superfood' status. Collins outlines berries' richness in antioxidants like vitamin C--a cup of strawberries has at least a whole RDA. She also touches on other cancer-inhibiting phytochemicals such as the anthocyanins found in red berries and pterostilbine, found in blueberries. The latter is similar to the often-hyped phytochemical found in grapes and red wine. Like and level-headed dietitian, Collins is quick to stress the importance of eating not just lots of berries, but a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and grains, all of which can provide phytochemicals that may work together to your benefit. Are berries really 'superfoods'?

I've been doing some research on berries and ALL the berries are really nutritious, with many anti-aging and even anti-cancer properties. Unfortunately I'm not really a fruit or berry lover, but I use berry powders mixed with my yogurt or food or salad dressing.
I buy natural Scandinavian berry powders from www.thenordicspirit.com but you can maybe find similar ones in health stores as well.
I'm actually scared to buy regular fresh berries because of all the pesticides and chemicals they contain, and organic ones are expensive and go bad so quicly...
The main thing is that berries, in any form, except in capsules, are real superfood, and they should be part of your diet. Just avoid the additional chemicals in them.
