Summer is the best time of year for eating outdoors and, because most of us don't have the luxury of living in a calm forest, near a bubbling stream or on a sunkissed beach, we have to take our food on the road to get the most out of the season. On July 13th, we'll be cooking, wrapping up our foods and taking them to go with some of our best moveable feasts. You can look forward to portable snacks, ways to pack up potluck picnic side dishes, recipes and, knowing us, there will probably be a fair amount of food porn, too.
If you have a blog and would like to join in the fun, simply prepare a portable food of your own and send us a link to your blog post! Ideas include pasta and potato salads, trail mixes, refreshing drinks (or cocktails for the grownups) and any treat that travels well, like chocolate chip cookies securely stashed in Tupperware, but nothing that melts or needs additional cooking before serving.
(By the way, if you do decide to make the cookies, we won't mind if you want to share a sample with us.)
