How to make really cute food... for your pet

CuteOverload isn't about food unless cute animals are eating it. A post yesterday detailed how to make a miniature burger for your pet hamster. Using a little coring tool, simply punch out buns, cheese and ham, toss on a little parsley for lettuce, and your mini sammie - as Rachael Ray, who loves those cutesy expressions, would say - is good to go! And don't worry about the inclusion of ham, because hamsters are omnivorous and do sometimes eat meat. If you want your little hamster to stick to a vegetarian diet, just swap the "patty" out with a small carrot round instead. Either way, a little burger is a little more interesting, not to mention a bit healthier, than most gourmet pet foods.

Tell me, what made any of us experts on telling other people they have too much time on their hands? Please explain because by you, who have come here after opening the link~ makes me think you have too much time on your hands...so apparently we all have plenty of time on our hands. I agree...I wanted to see the article~so I hit the link and I must say I found it useful. I buy my dog's anything they need and all sorts of "extras". I bring them scraps if we have steak, I buy them different collars, and I have spent quite a good deal of money on Gormet snacks for our local dog bakery...we have several to choose from and I live in a smaller City.My husband's employment calls for quite extensive time traveling and he has "spoke" to our dogs over the phone several times. We work hard, we pay all of our bills on time, pay taxes, and obey laws...so why does it matter to you if I take time to make the treats for my dogs...for me it is quality time. Since when sould anyone else decide what is "too much time on my hands?" Worry about yourself. At least I am doing something I enjoy. Life is too short to read things I have no intrest in...

It doesn't matter whether your pet is a hamster, guinea pig dog or a horse for that matter, they all have feelings and give us the utmost love. I have had many pets I just recently had to put my dog down one of the hardest things I had to do. She wasn't just a dog or a pet she was family. So if people want and have the extra time and money to do something special for there beloved pet let them do it and leave them alone. If only more people where as compassionate about animals and nature we all would be a little better off and we could all learn alot from animals if we just took the time to listen to them.

making special treats for a pet sometimes doesn't mean someone is sitting there all day doing just that. special treats for the pet vary their experience, it's creative, and it's loving.

i agree with the post in the thread, if everyone thought this thread was worth reading but dissed the time to make ONE (not a gazillion, but ONE) hamsterburger for their hammie (or a ratburger for their rattie) then there's a double standard at work.

do we make the most elaborate meal for ourselves EVERY day THREE meals a day?

i seriously doubt it.

is this a great creative idea for interacting with a pet?

absolutely.

does it mean one should do it 24/7/365? not that i can tell....

moderation in all things (even moderation...sometimes a pet, like a human needs a treat).

here's my recipe for pet salad which my iguanas loved:

shredded zucchini
shredded carrot
golden raisins
shredded cheddar cheese
whatever else the iguana hss indicated they're in the mood to eat that week....

if you're pets are omnivores, let them eat a wide range of stuff....if they're vegetarian, let them eat a wide range of vegetarian stuff.

if they're carnivores, let them eat a wide range of meat products...

mostly, enjoy them. they give back so much for so little.

and lucy the hamster rocks ;j-)

VETS DO NOT ACCURATELLY CALCULATE THE AMOUNT OF VACCINE ACCORDING TO THE WEIGHT OF THE DOG. THEY RATHER GO OVER THE AMOUNT THAN UNDER.THIS CREATES A REACTION IN THE PADS AND NAILS AND UPPER PAWS IN THE FORM OF HOT SPOTS. THEIR SALIVA CALMS THE ITCH AND BURNING SENSATION BUT LEAVES BEHIND AN UNSIGHTLY REDDISH COLOR TO THE PAWS. DOGS IMMUNE SYSTEM IS VERY STRONG AND SELDOM THEY GET ALERGIC REACTIONS TO ANYTHING.DO NOT FORGET WE INOCULATE THEM,FEED THEM AND SURROUND THEM WITH ALL SORT OF HARMFUL CHEMICALS.(FOOD ADDITIVES,LAWN FERTILIZERS,INCECTICIDES,FLOOR WAXES,SHAMPUS,VITAMINES,AIR POLLUTION,STRESS TRIGGERS LIKE LOUD MUSIC,NOISES,CIGARETTE SMOKE ETC.)

THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH LOVE TO GO AROUND.IT IS EASIER TO HATE,CRITIZICE AND MAKE FUN OF THOSE "WEAKER" PEOPLE.
